Christmas at Gunwharf Quays
Gunwharf Quays sees the return of the Christmas Village. Open from 9th November until 31st December, the Gunwharf Quays Christmas Village promises a festive extravaganza like never before.
Take a ride in the skies on our iconic 15m-high Observation Wheel. Wander through our charming market stalls. Indulge in handmade fudge and scrumptious churros drizzled in chocolate. Plus, don’t forget to sample local favourites like tangy chutneys and artisan cheese, Yorkshire pudding wraps, or grab a sizzling bratwurst fresh from the grill! And if you’re in the mood for something warm, toast to your shopping triumph with a cosy mug of hot chocolate or spiced Glühwein from our festive bar.
Join in the fun with the family-friendly games like Ball in the Bucket, or challenge your friends to the classic Tin Can Alley for your chance to win a prize.

Time walk through Christmas Past at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

Step into a time-travelling adventure and explore Christmas as it was celebrated through the decades at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard! This festive journey across three historic vessels is filled with captivating stories, period decorations and activities to transport you through Christmases of the past.
Wander the decks of HMS Warrior and experience the warmth and wonder of a Victorian Christmas, where lantern-lit paths and festive garlands invite you back to the traditions of yesteryear. Feel the spirit of camaraderie as you join Victorian sailors in song and discover the festive customs that brought cheer to the crew on chilly winter nights.
Next, immerse yourself in the gritty, resilient atmosphere of a First World War Christmas onboard HMS M33. Amidst the echoes of wartime, experience the poignant simplicity of a soldier’s holiday, from letters sent home to modest, heartfelt celebrations that sustained morale on the frontline.
Then, travel forward to a nostalgic 1950s Christmas on HMS Alliance, where the submarine is decked out in retro holiday charm. Experience the classic sights and sounds that brought comfort to the crew beneath the waves and explore how families and sailors alike celebrated the season in post-war Britain.

Portsmouth Ice Rink is located in Guildhall Square, Portsmouth. The square is a pedestrian area in the main city centre close to the Portsmouth and Southsea railway station and overlooked by the Guildhall. You can skate until Sun 5th Jan. Pre booking is recommended and can be done here.
Our Portsmouth Harbour Tour
Cruise around the Naval Base to view warships past and present. Cruise lasts for approximately 45 to 50 minutes, leaving from Gunwharf Quays and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
The cruises are normally hourly between 11.00 and 16.00 hours.
