On Saturday 13th September we took a trip out on Solent Cat to witness SS Shieldhall & PS Waverley steam side by side to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Shieldhall.
Luckily the conditions were good and all passengers had a lovely day. Conditions in the Solent were fresh but with bright light it made for some excellent pictures. It was a magnificent sight.
SS Shieldhall is the largest working steam ship in Britain! A member of the National Historic Fleet she serves as a sea going tribute to Britain’s maritime heritage.
PS Waverley is the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer.
